OUR STORY
We began making rings in 2023 as a hobby. Initially, it was just a fun activity to pass the time and explore our creativity. Through much trial and error, we honed the craft and made some impressive jewelry for ourselves, friends, and family. Each piece we created taught us something new about the intricate art of jewelry making. On Thanksgiving Day, our beloved dog Piper, the mom of our dog Linken, and my wife’s cuddle buddy, unexpectedly passed away. We were devastated by this sudden loss. Piper had been a cherished member of our family, and her passing left a void that was hard to fill.
Piper was a special dog. She brought immense joy and love into our lives with her unique personality and affectionate nature. Piper is survived by 12 puppies that are bringing love to 12 families and preceded in death by two of her offspring. These puppies continue her legacy of love and companionship, spreading joy wherever they go. Piper will always be remembered as the dog that loved unconditionally, would eat anything, and hated cats with a passion. Her quirky habits and boundless love made her unforgettable, and we miss her deeply.
One day, while making a ring, we noticed that the powders used to tint the epoxies are very similar in composition to the ashes in Piper’s urn. This observation sparked an idea, and in a leap of faith, we used her ashes to make a ring. The process was both emotional and cathartic, leading to the creation of something beautiful from our grief. This moment marked the birth of Pets and Halos. We realized that through our craft, we could honor Piper’s memory and help others memorialize their beloved pets in a meaningful way.
We hope that by sharing our love of ring making and pets, we can help bring peace and joy to those who have experienced the loss of their furry family members. Our journey with Piper's ashes showed us the profound comfort that can come from such keepsakes.
